(Image courtesy The Old Globe) The Old Globe is bringing the theatrical scene back to communities across San Diego and Tijuana with its annual “Globe for All” tour. This year, director Marcela Lorca is leading a talented cast and creative team for the free production of “Julius Caesar.” Starting Oct. 28 at Wilson Middle School in San Diego, the tour will travel for four weeks before arriving at The Old Globe’s House of Charm at Balboa Park for the final show on Nov. 22. Our annual Globe for All Tour offers a unique opportunity to enjoy live theatre right in your neighborhood.” said the Old Globe’s Director of Arts Engagement Adena Varner. “This year, our four-week tour allows us the opportunity to bring one of Shakespeare’s most popular titles to our new and existing community partners throughout the region.” Each show will take place in community-friendly venues and will be free to the public, with the exception of the last show which will require tickets at a low cost, on sale Oct. 3. Reservations are not required to attend, but seating is a first come-first served basis. The “Globe for All” tours began in 2014. Since then, the tour has brought a dramatic entertainment experience to 16,000 community members in a variety of non-theatrical locations, such as gymnasiums, cafeterias, shelters, senior centers, refugee community centers, military installations and correctional facilities. According to The Old Globe, the audience can expect an intimate experience that fosters a connection between attendees and performers, creating a memorable experience for first time visitors. On Sept. 12, The Old Globe announced a full cast and creative team traveling for the show. The cast includes Mary Chieffo as Julius Caesar, Kevin Alicea-Minor as Mark Antony and Erick Lindsey as Brutus, among others. The creative team includes scenic and props design by Audrey Casteris, costume design by Mayté Martínez, sound design by Matt Lescault-Wood, production stage management by Chandra Anthenill, and assistant stage management by Evelyn G. Myers. A full list of the cast and creative team can be found on The Old Globe’s website.
