Patriots inactives: Rookie receiver’s debut will have to wait

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Undrafted rookie wide receiver Efton Chism is listed among the Patriots’ six inactives Sunday. The Eastern Washington product has yet to make his rookie debut after making the Patriots’ 53-man roster out of training camp. The Patriots will dress Kayshon Boutte, Stefon Diggs, DeMario Douglas, Mack Hollins and Kyle Williams with Chism as a healthy scratch. The Patriots will have LT Will Campbell, LG Jared Wilson, C Garrett Bradbury, RG Mike Onwenu, RT Morgan Moses, OT Marcus Bryant, OT Vederian Lowe and G/C Ben Brown available. Moses had been questionable with an ankle injury. Gregory, a rookie who was claimed off waivers from the Bengals, is also a healthy scratch for the second straight week. The Patriots will dress defensive tackles Milton Williams, Christian Barmore, Khyiris Tonga, Joshua Farmer and Cory Durden. Gonzalez and White had been ruled out on Friday. The Patriots elevated rookie cornerback Kobee Minor from the practice squad. He takes the place of D.J. James and Corey Ballentine on the gameday roster. James was cut this week, and Ballentine was left on the practice squad. Carlton Davis III, Alex Austin, Marcus Jones and Charles Woods will also be active. Expect veteran Anfernee Jennings to take White’s rotational snaps behind Harold Landry III and K’Lavon Chaisson. The Patriots also have rookie Elijah Ponder available as an edge defender. DeVito can only enter the game if starter Drake Maye and backup Joshua Dobbs suffer injuries. The Patriots also elevated linebacker/special teamer Mark Robinson from the practice squad.
