Overnight lane closures on I-285 for sign work until Aug. 10

GDOT contractors will need to close lanes and shoulders on I-285 between Roswell Road and Riverside Drive through Aug. 10. (Provided by GDOT) Motorists needing to drive on I-285 overnight for the next few weeks between Roswell Road and Riverside Drive in either direction should be prepared for lane closures. Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will implement overnight lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on I-285 eastbound and westbound from July 25 through Sunday, Aug. 10. A GDOT news release said these lane closures are necessary for overhead sign removal and installation. Closures of two left lanes and a left shoulder on I-285 eastbound and westbound from Roswell Road to Riverside Drive will be made, weather permitting. Eastbound and westbound closures will not happen at the same time, according to the release. Related story:• I-285 lanes closing nightly to replace overhead signs starting Feb. 3• Mt.
