(File photo by Chris Stone/Times of San Diego) The California Highway Patrol is seeking the public’s help to identify the driver in a predawn hit-and-run on Interstate 15 in northern San Diego County that killed a pedestrian Tuesday. The man was struck by a vehicle on the northbound side of the I-15 freeway near Old Highway 395 in Bonsall at about 12:30 a.m., authorities said. Following the fatal impact, the motorist continued driving and left the area, the CHP reported. Investigators believe the involved vehicle might have been a Mazda that was left with damage to its front end and undercarriage. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about the suspect vehicle is urged to call the CHP Oceanside Area Office at 760-643-3400. City News Service contributed to this article.
