Battenfeld: Pro-Hamas protesters need to find a new chant

The “free Palestine” movement needs to find a new chant after President Donald Trump brokered a peace deal between Israel and Hamas, triggering the withdrawal of Israeli troops and the release of all living hostages held by the terrorist group. It must be frustrating for the Trump haters to see the images of the president getting thunderous applause from the Israeli parliament, and watching grateful families of the hostages who suffered unimaginable horror in their time of captivity celebrate and thank him for his role in the peace deal. Hamas is pathetically raising victory flags over the rubble in Gaza amid the suffering and misery they started with their Oct. 7 attack. The winds are now out of the sail of the pro-Hamas forces in the U.S. who have marched and gotten arrested in violent riots calling for the liberation of Gaza and an end to the war. They need a new angle. In London, pro-Hamas protesters went ahead with their march over the weekend and held signs with the antisemitic slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” which is a call for the destruction of Israel. While the rioters were showing their true antisemitic colors, and those in the U.S. were hurling objects at the police, Trump was simultaneously working to get the Israeli hostages released. It shows how shrill and uninformed the student protesters are that they don’t have a clue that what they’ve done has been harmful to their cause. Imagine if Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton had negotiated the peace deal. They’d be getting ready to add a new face on Mt. Rushmore. Democrats adamantly refuse to give Trump credit for anything but will be quick to affix blame if this fragile ceasefire erupts in war again. But for today, Trump wins. The Trump hating media like The Daily Beast has zero credibility but they show how desperate the left wing media has become by focusing on a heckler who interrupted Trump during his speech. “Trump Fumes as Protesters Spoil His Big Moment,” is the blaring headline in the Daily Beast. Trump actually did not fume – it was completely invented. But why let that get in the way of a bad headline? “The U.S. president had only been addressing the Israeli parliament for a matter of seconds on Monday morning when a member of the Knesset began shouting at the president,” the Daily Beast wrote. “Both men were quickly detained and removed by security, with cameras showing how irate Trump was that his speech was interrupted. “That was very efficient,” Trump said of the security team. That’s it. That was his “irate” response. Anti-Trump rioters in the U.S. now are moving on to a new target – the “No Kings” day of action planned for this weekend, including a rally in Boston headlined by Mayor Michelle Wu. The protest day is being billed as a movement against “abuses, cruelty and corruption of the Trump regime.” But it seems like there’s a protest fatigue in the rest of the country where average Americans live. The country could be getting weary of the violence and attacks on police. And what can you say about Trump that hasn’t already been said? All the “No Kings” protests have accomplished nothing. And the riots by pro-Hamas protesters have only turned the public against the violent demonstrations. Wu is treading in dangerous waters by speaking at the “No Kings” rally because if any violence erupts and police are injured she will have to take responsibility.
